Diagnosis of Autism Spectrum

At the Kids Medic Centre, we provide a comprehensive diagnosis of children, adolescents and adults for autism spectrum disorders.

Autism spectrum disorder

The full diagnosis is carried out by a diagnostic team consisting of, among others, a child and adolescent psychiatrist, a psychologist and a neurologist. The diagnosis consists of several stages and, most importantly, is completed by a medical diagnosis, which is a medical diagnosis, final and honoured later in all counselling and educational institutions.

Before proceeding with a full diagnosis using the tool ADOS-2, the child should be able to walk independently. In the case of children who are younger or who do not move independently, the diagnosis process is established individually, during the first consultation for parents with the Psychologist.

DIAGNOSIS STAGE I

For the diagnosis of children and adolescents, the parents themselves are invited to the first meeting. The meeting is dedicated to gathering the necessary information for further diagnosis; it is advisable to bring any medical and therapeutic documentation and a current opinion from the nursery, pre-school or school.During this meeting, our psychologist will make sure that you feel comfortable and safe and there will be time to clarify any uncertainties. If parents are unsure whether a diagnosis is necessary, we offer a further appointment to meet with the Psychologist.

Cost of meeting with a Psychologist: PLN 250

STAGE II DIAGNOSIS

After the first meeting, parents are given psychological tests to complete, this can be done quietly at home. The tests should be brought back to the centre so that the Psychologist can read the results before examining the patient.

Cost of testing: £350

STAGE III DIAGNOSIS

Cost of ADOS-2 study: 1400PLN

The next stage of the diagnosis is ADOS-2 studywhich is carried out by a team of two or three people at our Centre.
The responsibility for such an examination is very great, so an experienced team is the basis for such a process. During the appointment, one diagnostician conducts the examination with the child (in the case of young children, the parent is present during the examination) and another records the entire activity for an accurate diagnosis. The examination lasts 60-90 minutes. The team then meets to analyse the examination and issue the opinion based on ADOS-2which usually takes several days. The final stage is the release of the full survey report.

The patient is invited to the examination during the day. Care should be taken to ensure that the child:
- was not hungry
- was not tired
- must be fully healthy on the day of the test.

STAGE IV DIAGNOSIS

Once all documents have been completed, parents are invited to meeting with a member of the diagnostic teamin order to present information on the progress of the study. This time can be used to ask any questions.

The therapist also suggests what forms of therapy he recommends and What to ask your psychiatrist at your final appointment.

Cost of the meeting: PLN 220

V TAP DIAGNOZE

The final stage of the diagnosis is meeting with a psychiatrist, which, after a prior meeting with the diagnostic team, confirms or excludes autism spectrum disorder. Thanks to this, the diagnosis at Kids Medic Centre is carried out comprehensively and in a relatively short time.

This diagnosis is a medical diagnosis, so that on the basis of it you can apply for a Early Development Support, Special Needs Education, disability certificate, allowance etc.

Cost of the meeting: PLN 500
