How to prepare for a visit?

Psychologist

  1. Gather information: Make a list of your child's problems and behaviours.
  2. Documentation: Prepare essential medical and school documents.
  3. History: Make a note of important events in your child's life and developmental milestones.
  4. Notes: Record observations about the child's behaviour and relationships.
  5. Questions: Prepare questions for the psychologist.
  6. Only parents/guardians come to the first visit
  7. Come 10 minutes early to complete the necessary forms

Speech therapist / Neurologist

  1. Gather information: Make a note of the speech difficulties you have noticed in your child.
  2. Documentation: Prepare all relevant medical and school documents.
  3. History: Make a note of important information regarding your child's speech development.
  4. Observations: Record your observations on your child's speech, such as pronunciation, fluency, comprehension.
  5. Questions: Prepare a list of questions for the speech therapist regarding diagnosis and therapy.
  6. Child preparation: Explain to your child who the speech therapist is and why you are going to the appointment.
  7. Come 10 minutes early to complete the necessary forms

Physiotherapist

  1. Gather information: Make a note of the child's movement problems that are worrying you.
  2. Documentation: Prepare relevant medical documents, test results and any previous diagnoses.
  3. History: Note down important information about the child's physical development, e.g. developmental milestones.
  4. Observations: Record your observations of your baby's movements, posture and any pains.
  5. Questions: Prepare a list of questions for the physiotherapist regarding diagnosis and therapy.
  6. Child preparation: Explain to your child who the physiotherapist is and why you are going to the appointment.
  7. Clothing: Make sure your child is wearing comfortable clothing that allows free movement.
  8. Come 10 minutes early to complete the necessary forms
