When do you need a speech therapy diagnosis in a child?
Do not wait if you observe that in your child:
- inserting the tongue between the teeth while speaking ,
- mouth breathing,
- sleeping with your mouth open,
- frequent upper respiratory tract and ear infections,
- problems making eye and verbal contact with the child,
- is not willing to talk,
- does not like to talk,

What does a speech therapy diagnosis for children look like?
The diagnostic procedure is divided into two stages. In the first stage, an initial examination (interview, observation, indicative speech examination) and follow-up examinations are done. In the second stage, an examination of understanding, speaking, reading and writing (depending on the child's age) and specialised examinations are carried out. The therapist collects information to make a preliminary assessment of potential causes, symptoms of the observed speech therapy phenomenon. The next step is to identify the problem and develop a therapeutic programme. The final stage is the evaluation of the effectiveness of the measures taken and the decision to continue the therapy or to end it successfully 🙂
