What is a therapy group for children?

The groups do not have a set rigid script - topics that the children bring up, that are important and difficult for them, are discussed. In addition, the Psychologist weaves in elements of social skills and ways to calm down, relaxation methods, reading emotions from the body.

When to enrol a child in a therapy group ?

Children with:

  •  psychomotor hyperactivity, 
  •  with difficulties in regulating their emotional states
  •  difficulties in respecting social norms.

What are the activities in the therapy group like?

Group classes that are conducted in small groups - maximum 4 persons. Therapy involves free conversation between children in the presence of a psychologist. Classes include elements of body awareness, relaxation, social skills.

For whom therapy group ?

For children aged 6 and over.

How long do the classes last?

A single class with a therapist lasts: 45 minutes

How long does the whole therapy take?

Therapy consists of a series of scheduled meetings. There are up to 20 meetings per cycle.

How to prepare for a visit?

Prior to joining the group, patients are invited to an Initial Consultation, which lasts 60 minutes and includes a short interview with the parent followed by observation of the child. The diagnosis allows the Psychologist to match children to the appropriate age group, where children are also matched on skills and areas for development. Occasionally, the Psychologist may suggest participation in one-to-one sessions, prior to the group sessions.
