What is functional diagnosis of children?
The functional diagnosis at Kids Medic is based on the standardised KORP tool. During the examination, the Psychologist is able to determine whether development is progressing properly in all 6 key areas. The functional diagnosis identifies areas for development and the child's strengths. The diagnosis can also be used to monitor therapeutic progress.
When you need functional diagnosis in the child?
Children who are beginning the therapeutic process or children in whom we want to check for normal development - whether it is age-appropriate - are invited for a functional diagnosis.
A functional diagnosis is able to identify strengths and weaknesses in a child's development.
What it looks like functional diagnosis of children?
The child's diagnosis consists of two meetings: the first meeting is an interview with the parent and the second meeting is an observation of the child. The visit ends with a written opinion on the child's strengths and areas for development.
The KORP test is very pleasant for the child - it usually takes around 60-75 minutes and is further extended by an interview with the parent. The test itself takes place without the parent being present in the office and is later discussed with the parents. The tasks in the test are friendly, involving play and games with the Therapist.

How long do the classes last?
A single class with a Psychologist lasts: 120 minutes
How long does the whole therapy take?
The functional diagnosis process takes place during one scheduled 120-minute visit, which includes observation of the child and a test and interview with the parent. The final outcome is a written opinion following the functional diagnosis
How to prepare for a visit?
The functional diagnosis takes up to 120 minutes so it is advisable that it takes place in the morning or around midday when the child is not tired. Make sure the child is not hungry and is wearing comfortable clothing that does not restrict movement.
