What is pedagogical diagnosis?

A pedagogical diagnosis includes an in-depth diagnosis and identification of the causes of school difficulties, but also recognition of the child's abilities and strengths. The diagnosis makes it possible to individualise the level and range of activities to the child's needs and abilities in order to ensure comprehensive and effective development. Pedagogical diagnosis is carried out at every educational level. For the youngest children, this is referred to as a school readiness diagnosis, which determines the child's readiness to start school in class 1.
